Yea, I think in the last four years they've handled Bobcat (Kioti), then Cub and Yanmar, and now Kioti and Mahindra.

I hope they get some stability in their lineup.

Yeah, seems like they've run through a few different manufacturers. I kind of wish there was another Kioti dealer around, but there isn't: closest one is down toward Olympia I believe.

But it still comes down to the manufacturer. Someone posted some links to internal documents of surveys given to dealers and it pretty much showed what they thought of the quality of stuff from manufacturers and how well they were supported (with specific question on warranty support). Kubota topped the list. Kioti did well. I suspect that Yanmar didn't, and this could be a reason that Monroe dropped them: Brim up in Mount Vernon sells Yanmar and New Holland; as I noted in another thread, no one here even acknowledged that I existed (they were given chances); folks in Monroe didn't swarm me, they waited for me to walk in and they were right there to answer questions. Anyway, the big thing is how well the manufacturer supports the dealership. No matter how good a dealership wants to be they're going to struggle to look good to their customers if the manufacturer's support is bad.

I'm going to check back with Monroe and ask them to verify that they don't get any sort of mileage compensation for dealing with equipment at the customer's location. Would be interested if some Kioti rep could chime in here. As long as the story is straight I'm OK with it whichever way it is.

Kioti does not pay mileage for service or warranty calls. It is up to the owner to deliver the equipment to the dealer or arrange for the dealer to pick up. I am not aware of any manufacturer that pays to have equipment floated for service or warranty. Some dealers may decide to waive the float fee for equipment that they have sold while still in warranty.

In the case of the ECU recall Kioti is paying the dealer a trip charge if they come to the tractor. This is because it is a recall and affects all machines listed in the bulletin.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Makes perfect sense. I'm just wanting to know what I can expect.
