aloha all. i just got my dk55 with fel backhoe and grapple rake. i can not say enough of how good a move that this was. the grapple rake is capable of ripping medium brush straight out of the ground. this thing has surprising amount of power. the room on this tractor is unreal. anyways all a+++ reviews with the exception of a slight leakdown in the backhoe. i bought the tractor from jennings equipment and got a great deal. anyways i found this tractor here and would just like to thank you all
I have the similar DK45S and am very happy with it, now have nearly 150 hours on the tractor.
I toyed with the idea of buying the DK55, but the lower 45hp already overwhelms the R4 tires, so more power would have been wasted here. If I had it to do over again, I'd have sprung for Ag tires, I may still re-equip the tractor with ag tires in the future.
During a recent cold spell, the electrically activated 4-wheel drive didn't want to go into 4-wheel drive immediately, took a few minutes to move. Hopefully, that won't burn up the solenoid, but keep watch for this.
I've added a pallet fork implement for the FEL, a good tool. I've used it for pallets, but it's very good for picking up stumps and large rocks for relocation or disposal.
I've found the valves on the backhoe to be notorious leakers when pressure is removed from them, requiring constant adjustment when the BH isn't in use, or installation of the locking pins, a lot of trouble just to move the tractor around and use the FEL. As a guess, I'd say Kioti didn't use first class valves and we're having to deal with that fact. I've found the valves hard to feather as well, allowing too much flow with small movements of the controls.
Am I happy with my tractor? Yes, but it could stand improvements, they all can.
