My wife gave me her blessing so I was off to the tractor store to pick out my new toy. I've pretty much got it narrowed down to a B7510 but keeping an open mind. The dealer gave me the following quotes:

B7510 HST w/ foldable ROPS and loaded bar/turf tires
LA302 FEL
60" mmm
$14,650 and he'd have to order it but I think he could get it in a few days from another dealer.

HOWEVER, he has the same tractor in stock except it has about five hours on it because he loaned it out to someone when their tractor was being repaired. This tractor has R4s on it which he would let me use until he could get some bar/turf tires for it. That would be nice since I won't have any mowing to do for quite some time and will be doing alot of loader and grading work. He will sell me this tractor for $14,250 and I could pick it up this afternoon (possibly) or tommorow (more likely). Do I need to be at all cautious about what was done with the tractor for those few hours or would it be pretty tough to do any damage in that short of a time? The dealer told me I'd get the full warranty and it would be just like buying a new tractor.

The other quote I got was for a BX2230 with FEL and 60" mmm for $12,800. This tractor would probably work for me but my thinking is to pay a little more and get true category 1 and increased loader and hydraulic capacities and a tougher tractor (with less HP although).

Any thoughts on these prices or anything else that might apply? I'm really struggling on whether to go with the "demo" model, get it right away and save a few hundred bucks or to wait for the new one. The cheaper price of the BX is also in the back of my mind but I'm trying to keep it back there.

Thanks,

Matt

I would take the 400 myself and buy something you can use with the tractor.Really don't think in 5 hours someone could do any damage that wouldn't show up before your warranty was up.After you use a new one for half a day it is just as used except you would have had to pay 400 more for 5 hours use IMHO

I think my NH had more than 5 hours on it when I got it. I'd save the money and get the "used" one, with a full warranty too.

Oh yeah.........welcome to TBN /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"Good on ya, mate" Just make sure that you get the full warranty documentation, in writing and that the sale documents either say that what you are buying is "New" or that they say that the dealer/Kubota are covering the tractor and implements w/full new warranty anyway. It's not that folks aren't usually honest, but you can't depend on what the sales guy has told you because Murphy's law says that he won't still be around if and when you have a warranty issue and the dealer will say (and not unreasonably) that he knows nothing about it and that if it isn't in writing, it didn't happen.

Best of luck w/it.

I'd take the demo! As far as the BX2230 is concerned, it's a very capable machine but if you think you need the 7510 then that's the minimum you should get. Very few people here ever complain about getting "too much" tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
