I called my CC dealer yesterday (inquiring about backhoes) and asked him about Mahindra taking over the old 7xxx series. He said that series ran for about 7 years, then when CC retooled for new models, Mahindra bought all of the old dies. He said that historically, Mahindra buys the dies from discontinued models of various manufacturers. The new Mahindras look like the old CCs, but they are really made in India, not Japan. He said that CC does have one new model that is still made by Mitsubishi (I can't recall which one). He also said the old 7xxx series are really bulletproof and there haven't really been any troubles with them (may just be a sales pitch, so take it for what it's worth). He did mention that I should check the motor mounts as sometimes they work loose. I have heard that here somewhere maybe?

I think he is a little off, the Mahindra's are tagged on the serail plate, " a product of Mitsubishi Agricultural Japan"
As well as i have had 4 people at our dealership from Mitshubishi during the winter to ask questions about how we liked there tractors etc. It is my understanding that they are built in a joint venture with mitsubishi. As to why they are no longer with cub cadet? i'm not shure on that. I have heard lots of different reasons, that i won't get into, mostly rumours and i'm not passing them on.

That CC dealer isn't even close. I'd be careful on anything else he told you. I too have had a visit directly from Mitsubishi. They are very much the manufacturer of these tractors. They expressed that they already are enjoying a huge increase in sales since Mahindra got involved.

I'm not right all the time (shocking as it may be /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif), but it suprises me that this CC dealer is so far off the mark.

I am not surprised either way. I usually take what he says at face value. The good news, is that there is a Mahindra dealer closer to me than any CC dealer, so I may be visiting them for parts and filters. I buy most of my other farm stuff from the JD dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
