I'm a big fan of Craftsman tools (mainly Mechanics tools). Anyhow, I've been wanting to get a new 1/2" drive torque wrench that went up to 250 ft-lbs. The Craftsman Digitork sells for $109.99 I've been putting it off waiting for it to go on sale. Same thing with the 16 pc. 3/4" drive ratchet set that sells for $219.99. As luck would have it, last week they both went on sale. The torque wrench was $99.99 and the ratchet set was $199.99. Well thanks to my handy little Craftsman Club card I got the torque wrench for $79.99 and the ratchet set for $149.99. So I walked out of there Saturday with a new Torque Wrench and 3/4" drive ratchet set for $250± after Uncle Sam got his cut. The sale ended Saturday. If I'd would have known about it sooner I would have posted it here, but the wife and I moved at the end of the week and I took off of work so I had no internet access.

yeah, but I sure miss the blanket 10% off they used to offer - kind of "make your own sale". I picked up a couple items last week, but I've been eyeing a few others that haven't gone on sale yet.

I bought a Husky 1/2" drive 50-250 lb for 69.95 at Home Depot today. I did have a Craftsman but when the ratchet needed parts, they no longer supported it and it was not that old so it kind of ticked me off. I would have preferred Snap On but the budgets tight.

I used to belong to the Craftsman Club. Guess I was not buying enough as the ads stopped coming.

I was a Craftsman/ Sears kind of guy until a bought a "back out" set of bits - 3 for 20 bucks. First time I used one it broke in half. I figured it has Craftsman on the label, Sears will replace it - NOPE! I was told that if it doesn't say Craftsman 100% guarantee on the packaging its not something they'll replace.

So for a 20 dollar set of bits they lost the sale of; 1.) a 1,500 dollar lawn mower (bought a green one from Lowes), 2.) a 550 dollar grill (bought a Weber from Home Depot) and 3.) a 200 dollar chop saw (from the Depot.

When my washer/ dryer/ dishwasher/ refrigerator/ freezer goes I'll go out of my way to avoid Sears.

Found that out the hard way two weeks ago. Been kicking around the idea of a 40" single drawer chest to go between my top chest and bottom cart. Got a CC e-mail, which made my mind up, and off to Sears I went. When the cashier swiped my card and nothing came up, I found out their policy changed!! Only the stuff in the circular gets the sale price.

Rats!
