What kind of oil should be used in the governor and injection pump?
One man's opinion only, but I use ISO100 compressor oil. When anything - including diesel fuel - is compressed, heat is generated. One of the byproducts is carbon. Compressor oil is formulated to suspend the otherwise unfiltered byproducts of compressed fuel delivery.jinmared said:What kind of oil should be used in the governor and injection pump?
You are correct, but one of the properties of the compressor oil formula IS to suspend carbon to prevent buildup on the valves. A compressor can't compress if the valves won't close. But I can see how that might sound like detergent action.Soundguy said:I thought compressor oil was non detergent..
