Hope the rest of you guys with GR2xxxs have better experience with service than I have. I almost feel like they don't want to be bothered with my $8,000 lawn mower when they can better use their time on the farmer's $20,000 tractor.

It has been 2 years and 105 hours since I bought this VERY EXPENSIVE lawn mower. I don't regret buying it because it still is better on my hills than the Cub Cadet I had before. BUT, it isn't as good as I think it should be. My hills are really not that formidable for a 4-wheel drive tractor but this machine routinely goes into Hydrostatic Lock dependent on the atmospheric pressure of the day and its ability to back up a hill is extremely minimal compared to its ability to go up the same hill in the forward direction.

Each time I have had this machine serviced I have complained about that and each time I get it back it is worse. This last service broke the camel's back for me (I'll start doing my own service from now on or find another dealer not too far away) All they did is change fluids, lubed, and attempted (again capability was worse after adjustment) to adjust the screw under the hydro pedal; they said the blades did not need sharpening -- $160.00. The first time my wife used the mower after the service it badly scapled my lawn. Thinking something must be wrong (this never happed before) I started screwing around with height adjustment and couldn't seam to fix it. I called the service department and they sent someone out -- he stated he fixed nothing and just adjusted it. I'm not going to contradict him, rather I questioned why the height adjustment was off from the start. Nothing in what they did to service it required them to change the settings I had it on. They still charged me for the service call -- $40.00. That's $200.00 this year and the machine runs worse than it did last year.

NOTE: DO NOT install the mulching kit option on this mower. It leaves a track of cut grass between each blade. I will be removing it and installing the regular blades.

BTW, the dealership I'm referring to here is PARCS, Salem, WV

We find that anytime you install mulchers that you need to mow more often to keep them from doing what you have for a problem.
