I see grain drills advertised with single disk openers and double disk openers.
What is the difference in operation/planting?
Which is better? Thanks

dont know if i can explain to where you can understand but ill try.with single disc drills the single disc makes a place for the seed to fall.an with double disc wheels makes a place for the seed to fall.

Double disc opener makes a wider slot in the soil. Less chance of the seed ending up on the surface instead of in the slot. My old Minneapolis Moline P3-6 drill has single disc openers. Planted Kanota oats with it with no problem.
