Grand L 5240 Mid PTO question - cab version

I've seen some info on adding the Mid PTO, which my tractor currently does not have. My understanding is that it can be added by removing a cover and adding in the PTO gear without splitting the tractor (apparently you need to split it to do this on the non-cab version). So My question is Where is this thing? The very limited diagrams I have seen do not show enough for me to figure out where the PTO goes. Anyone have directions or photos? Trying to plan ahead a bit here...

Some cab/open tranny combinations required a split. Others just required draining the sump & opening a port to add the gear. You can probably find some posts on here with details is you dig.

Cab tractors do NOT require a split. It is a simple bolt on.

You can see the existing block off plate with drain plug directly under the HST. This block off plate gets replaced by the mid PTO housing.

I've done the conversion on the L3130 and the process is similar to the GL40. It's very easy to do, but you have to drop all the fluid.

I'll try taking pictures of the L4740, but the snowblower is still mounted and will obstruct the view somewhat.

Thanks. So that looks like it is on the "driver's side" of the tractor then. I'll have to go out and compare your photo to my tractor to home in on this.

my grand L4740 had it's mid pto swapped to a Grand L6060. Apparently the parts swap even between 40 and 60 series. I have no use for the mid pto so I didn't mind.

The Mid PTO is under the tractor at the very bottom. The picture was taken from the side.

If you crawl under the cab, lay on your back, and look for the big drain plug for the HST. The plate is bolted from the bottom.
