Grand L FST/PTO ?

I was wondering if anyone with a Grand L series tractor and the FST can explain how they engage the Independent PTO?

Can the Independent PTO be feathered using the FST Clutch?

Will depressing the FST Clutch pedal disenage the PTO?

I don't have a kubota gear tractor, but in general you idle down the engine, engage the clutch and put in the PTO then ease up the clutch. When the clutch is all the way out increase rpm's and go.

Are you having trouble or just trying to avoid it with a new machine?

I have a Grand L GST with independent PTO.
With a GST the clutch pedal has nothing to do with the PTO.
PTO is feathered in with the lever that moves a cable that engages the hydraulic clutch pack on the PTO. You should always idle down the engine RPM before engaging the PTO. KennyV.

Thanks Kenny, that answers my question! Just trying to understand the independent PTO versus the Live PTO that I am use to.

Kenny, he has a FST of Fully Syncronized Transmission -- that's a gear trans.

I don't think it has a clutch pack engagement like the GST does. I don't have my manuals here to check...

My HST by the way, disengages the PTO when the clutch is pressed.
