The extra 4 hp (l6060 is technically 62hp) of the 4066 is overshadowed by the extra gears in the Kubota in my opinion. I looked pretty hard at JD in 2019 because my local Kubota dealer is pretty bad. After trying a few JD's I decided I couldn't live without the HST+ trans. I'm sure it depends on the user but for me doing primarily finish grading in the summer and snow plowing in the winter its unbeatable.

JD has a nice knob yo adjust the HST sensitivity. Kubota has the same adjustability, but it's behind that stupid 1 button to control everything menu. So as a practical matter you set it on a Kubota once or twice & leave it there forever. You can adjust it all the time on a per job basis on JD.

Wasn't enough to keep me from buying HST+, but it tightened up the scales a bit.

If only Kubota had a better interface. Functionality is there already, just not an easily accessible set of controls.

One tractor I did look at carefully and think made the right decision to pass on was Yanmar. There were two main reasons I passed on the Yanmar over the Kubota: their dealerships and the fact they left the left the market once before if not mistaken. Think have the second point correct. I reached out to Yanmar on their lack of dealerships other than one within 100 miles to be told they were contracting new dealerships all the time. Just checked and in 2 1/2 years none added within that 100 mile range of me in NC or SC.

The HST response control should've been left as a knob like on the Grand L40 series. We found a happy medium on the L4060 and just left it there.

I agree. Having to use the Intellipanel to change HST sensitivity is a pain. It isn't really a problem for me though since, like you, I just set it and forget it.

Still, it would be nice to be able to adjust it quickly for certain work operations.
