bx-23 ,
Mom just sent me this pic,of my granda fathers tractor. The photo is from early 50s she said Grandafather sold his oil business in MASS.,and decided to take up dairy farming up here in MAINE,with his 3 kids. After a few years he decided to move back, but mom wanted to stay,to finish high school here. The farm sold ,mom moved in with the neighbors and their kids, later to meet dad,get deeded a peice of here adopted familys land. Then they had 3 kids ,i being the youngest.Well to make a long story short.I was deeded a peice next to grandpas farm, and work with my front end loader alot. The tractor is kinda my passion.I can see in the pic its a case, anyone tell me more?Looks like grandpa had something get by the loader and take out the grill:D :D Never knew him well,he lived in MASS when i was growing up.He always drove a cadillac, and i thought of him as a city slicker.DoESNT look like one here.:)

EVENING SCOTTY,
I was studying this pic,and although primitive probably,i dont think you would need any counter weight, whereas the loader arms, come way back to the rear tires, but mabey im thinkin wrong.
Whats amazing about my story,I live 150 yards from this farm, and i probably move the same dirt, and rocks on these stone walls as grampa did.The original house and barn still all in good shape.Mom told me he sold it all and something like 2000 acres for 7000 dollars!!!Last year the long time dairy farmer sold just the house and barn and 20 acreas for 250,000.Prices have sure gone up since the 50s:D
I still am interested in the model of the tractor,i know your into the old farmalls,i hope someone can id it.

EVENING SCOTT,
Ithink you got it!!!Ikept clicking back and forth, only real difference is grandpas tractor didnt have fenders.Either knocked off,or had to be removed to accept the loader. Thanks alot,i emailed mom the pic.Mabey she tore the fenders off:) There are tales her and her brothers were hellyuns. They shot every one of those now antique glass lightning rodsoff that barn roof from what im told.:) no wonder grampa moved back to MASS:)
The thing sticking out the sides-are they mirrors?
