Many of you know my grandson lives with me. While raking hay he turned to sharp and put the rake into the rim knocking off the valve stem ... fluid went flying and the Montana is setting in the field waiting on the service truck.

I am thankful the rake didn't catch and flip right up on the cab!!

Good thing nothing else happened and I am glad he is ok. But tell him this....

Experience is something you get right after you need it!

I saw this on someones signature and thought it was right on:thumbsup:

Yes experience is good. I was bailing in the same field ... my cell rang and he says' Houston we have a problem ... when I pulled up he had his finger on the broken valve stem holding the fluid in!!

Is he still standing in the field with his finger in the Dike waiting for the tire man?

I remember going to Blue, Oklahoma in the fifties to see my Aunt and Uncle. I got a haircut at the "downtown" section of Blue, just on the South side of the railroad tracks. I sat on the porch of the store in a Cane bottom chair with a sheet over me and the barber had hand operated clippers. This was probably ca. 1957. My Aunt died last year, but I went to see her a lot over the last fifty years or so. She was such a fabulous lady that I still have a soft spot for Blue, just because of her.

No ... I cut the finger off and stuck it in the dike!! Blue is a quaint little area. I think the biggest attraction now is the Tuesday Night Chicken Auction and with everyone wanting chickens in todays world ... well Darn if they ain't got a bunch every week. Some hens are going pretty high!!

Yeah that can make for a less than productive day. We were cutting the other day and I had a young guy helping me so he could make a little extra. I was servicing the rake and baler and let him cut a little while. He hit the front tire of another tractor sitting next to the field with the mower. cut the tire off and ruined the rim. Luckily an old truck tire will fit those older tractors. got us through the day anyway.
