I'm looking to add a grapple to my BX2230 FEL (LA211). After doing searches on TBN and Google it appears there are three possibilities.

Add-A-Grapple by Precision Mfg (avail through dealers)
$549 grapple 11100-C48, $449 selector valve kit MP-010, $120 shipping

ATI
$713 GK-4866 (requires welding for installation, does not include the selector valve and accy parts)

American Solutions (this was discussed on TBN by Berniep http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/69176-american-soulutions-grapple-bx23-install-3.html however American Solutions URL does not appear to be healthy. Does anyone know if they are still in business?)

Any comments on the above suppliers or their grapples?

Are there any others to consider for a SCUT with a 48" FEL?

Look at m7040's post in the kubota owning and operating section. He has pics of one he installed on his tractor (larger than your unit I think). He gives price, pics, supplier, etc. May be able to use same one for yours.

I saw that one, The Thumb. On the BX the FEL uses one hyd cyl for the bucket and it is mounted in the middle. I think that cyl mounting would interfere with the mounting for the thumb. In one of Berniep's posts I just found he mentions that ATI said the GK-4866 will not work because of the BX's center mounted cylinder. If that's true it's down to the Add-A-Grapple or the American Solutions, if they are still in business.

BTDT - are you working nights too.

Over a year ago I bought the loader lever from American Solutions. It took awhile to get it, but when I did it was a quality part. About six months ago I decided on getting their grapple too, after conversing with Bernie. I sent emails to American Solution with no response. I called and left a message on the machine with no response. One number was no longer in service. Eventually I called one day and got a woman who was of no help, but said she would have the owner call me. To this day no call. Guess they don't want to sell their product too bad.

Have you checked with these folks? Grapples

Yep - That is W. R. Long. They make good products from what I've read here. However it is way too big for a BX. The smallest one from them is for a 1000 to 1200 rated bucket. The BX bucket is rated for 400.

I think the Thumb could be mounted on either side of a bucket. I know I've seen a picture with 2 Thumbs mounted on a bucket. Try searching for ...

I have a grapple from Dehner Welding called the Arm and it's heavy duty. They have a website and offer add-ons and grapple buckets.

Do a search on TBN for Tatro to find posts about Andy Tatro's grapples. There have been plenty of satisfied customers. He sometimes sells on Ebay and will custom make one to suit your needs.
