I see that a lot of folks on here like grapple buckets (me too!!!). I thought I was living high on the hog when I got my 4in1 bucket until I got my grapple. I wondered how I ever got along without the 4in1. Then I got the grapple. Now the only time my 4in1 sees any tractor time is for moving dirt, gravel, and loading firewood in the bucket. Also, I now wonder how in the world I ever survived without the grapple.
When I was looking at grapples, Land Pride had just come out with the SGC 1072. I looked at all kinds but for some reason this one just kept calling my name. Since purchasing I increased my brush pile burning by at least 50 %. I had 3 big piles of brush I had stacked after I did some work on my property with a mini-ex. I was having all kinds of fun trying to drive into a pile with the 4in1 to grab that stuff. I would get a little each time but was always fighting it. Once I put that grapple on, the piles quickly disappeared. While I was at it I started raking out briars and underbrush from some of my big trees that had been neglected for quite a while. Heck, I even use it to clean up all the leftover cornstalks, tomato plants , squash and pumpkin plants in my garden in late summer. Pulls all that stuff with ease, then grab it and to the burn pile. Now when a storm rolls through I dare one of my big trees to drop some heavy limbs just so I can get on the tractor and use my grapple.
The SGC 1072 has been an outstanding addition for my yard maintenance and stays on the tractor 80% of the time now. If any one out there is looking to buy a grapple for your tractor it will pay for itself in no time at all. If you are buying a tractor for the first time I highly suggest adding this implement right off the bat. Which ever grapple manufacturer you decide to go with you will never regret having one on the front of your tractor!!! Happy Burning!!!
