Loader Grapple stuck closed

Grabbed onto a pretty hefty boulder, then the cylinder on the grapple wouldn't retract. Was light in the rear (forgot my handy dandy new ballast barrel). Got stuck in a wet spot, so could only dump the grapple in the woods, drag it to a better spot and clean out the connectors tomorrow, what else to check?

Reseat at all the couplers first, and check for power if your using a solenoid or diverter valve.

I had a similar issue- intermittently when the tractor was new with the W. R. Long 3rd function remote set. The dealer had me reset the remote connections (remove and replace) for the grapple connections. And doing this at the connection set by the operators station, the problem went away. It seems a remote can be installed sufficiently to physically lock it in place but not seated enough to have proper hydraulic flow.

I am looking at titan grapple for my 2014 ds3510 kioti it has quick disconnect loader I need to clear a burned house
so I need to add a backhoe to tractor also so I can dig .my tractor does not have rear hydraulics would titan skid backhoe
Fit where my frontend loader is on tractor or do I need to do 3point backhoe. Dealer just wants too much for
Installing backhoe.

You should really start your own thread on this, but to answer your question I don't think you would be at all happy with the titan skid steer backhoe on your tractor, for one thing the balance would be poor, for another you cannot see what you are doing on a tractor like you can on a skid steer, so you would be operating it blind, and another is you cannot "skid" sideways to deposit the spoils like a skid steer can.. it would take forever scratching in the dirt with an overbalanced arm stuck out there operating it with the hood of the tractor in the way, and moving the tractor to reposition it for each scoop.. Yep, don't think you would be happy at all with it.

Were you moving the levers and the grapple would not move.

You might have pushed the nut of the end of the rod that holds the piston.

In that case, the fluid would just flow back and forth with no action.

Thanks for all the replies, still haven't gotten the tractor back down to where I peeled off the grapple, i bent the loader release bar, so couldn't get the bucket on - i want to drag the grapple closer to where i can easily attach the lines. Release bar is out getting welded (cracked it when it bent) and a replacement on order. I reseated all the connectors and the lines seem to move a bit when i engage the third function switch ( nothing on the remotes) so it may have just been some dirt in there, will post results after this rain stops and i venture forth again. I need a welder thats for sure...

Update...
The hydraulics were fine, the grapple was lying on its face when I dropped it so didnt have good perspective. The boulder was on its elongated side, and it was jammed against the teeth on it was fully retracted, open as wide it would go, and the boulder couldn't move. After tugging with a chain and it wedging in even tighter, was gonna take off the bolts and free up the rock. Then HRH (Her Royal Hotness) also known as she who is smarter than me, told me to lift the grapple up with the bucket and see if I could jiggle it free. Pshawww, already lifted it it wont move... Dropped right out after a few shakes.
Why do women stick around when they are so much smarter than us? Pics tomorrow, after I listen to her explain how to use her camera...
