took delivery yesterday on a used L3940, had the dealership add a grapple and a diverter on the joystick. I think the grapple is an Enlow, the diverter is a WH Long. Yesterday it worked fine, but today it will only open about 12", as if I have set a lock on it and it just won't get any wider. It will close back down just fine, but not open much. The boom itself is working fine, I can raise, lower, and curl the grapple, just not open/close it very much.
Have I probably reset something or caused a problem? I hardly used it, just picked up a few small logs. Seems odd that it would work fine first day and then not work, unless I've done something dumb.

You don't have a "problem" per say, you have just found the regenerative function of your FEL valve. Basically you need to push the joystick further to the right to get past he regen feature of the valve.

Read THIS for a great explanation.

I have a Fasse diverter valve for an WR Long grapple on a L4310.

When the temperature dips below about 20 deg-F, the circuit need to warm up. In winter I typically have the bucket on and let the tractor warm up say 20 minutes, then it slowly allows curl operation. Becomes quicker after slow operation.
