Hi all
I'm looking to buy a grapple for my 2720. I like the style of the one in the picture below but it weighs about 500LBS. My FEL has a lift capacitiy of 560LBS according to my implement brochure, of course it can lift more. The builder tells me he can make it 4ft, reduce the number or teeth and use 3/8" plate instead of 1/2" to reduce weight.
I'm going to do a search through past posts on grapples but if any grapple owners could give me any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
What weight would be acceptable for a 200cx loader with 560LB rated lift?
I plan to use the grapple for moving small logs, big limbs, rocks-100-150 lbs, lifting the end of heavy logs to saw them off to firewood length, 20 inches and moving sawed off pieces to proper location, and moving brush. Will this style grapple work well for this?
Would 3/8" plate be strong enough for this work and how many teeth on top and bottom would I need? I'm thinking at least 4 over 5 teeth for a 4ft grapple.
Thanks
