Everything Attachments is hard to beat. Well built grapples in a multitude of sizes.

First step is to determine what you will use it for.

I agree. Each operator has their own expectations for a Grapple. I guess that's why there are so many different types. The range is huge from bolt on claws for your bucket to extremely heavy duty rook rake types. If you've not done so you might try to think about your expectations. Then express them here so posters can better guide you.

I bought a second toothed bucket and built a double claw grapple on it. I wanted to be able to carry loose material and/or grapple loose brush without having to swap attachments.

Some of the budget grapples just use bolts for the claw pivots, instead of pins and bushings and grease fittings. Some are made from mild steel, so they're heavy or bend easily. The EA ones are a few hundred more than the budget models but are well made and supported.

I use a Green's Machine thumb and tooth-bar;not a full on grapple but works well.Won't open as "full" as a purpose built grapple but very useful.Around $600 total plus the third function(which you would need for a grapple) or some use the rear remotes if you have them.

Some of the self proclaimed “grapple experts” will soon show up and try to browbeat you into buying their vision of the “perfect grapple” without regard to what you plan to use it for.

EA wicked root grapple is best I’ve had and have had a few different ones it’s light but made strong and well I wish it had jic fittings for hydraulics instead of NPT thinking of getting a new one with a larger throat opening
