How well does your wheeled landscape rake work for removing leaves on a trail or windrowing excess grass clippings? I have been looking at one to remove leaves and debris from firebreaks and windrowing grass clippings. Thanks

I 've never used my estate rake (I think I called it a landscape rake awhile back) for the tasks you described. My primary use is rake out the dry thatch in the spring. It does a fairly good job, however, you do have to weigh it down to hold it from skidding.

The raking wheels on mine are about 18" in diameter. Somewhere I saw one that had 24" or 26" wheels. I think that would be more effective for heavier duty applications.

I don't think it would do a good job with fresh grass clippings unless they were quite long. Well mulched clippings would sift through the tines. Also if your trails require raking away lots of sticks, they tend to get caught up in the wheel tines.

Never heard anyone describe that as a landscape rake. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Thought that was a form of a hay or grass rake. Landscape rakes typically have spring teeth, without any rotating parts and can be angled to push the gravel or soil one direction or the other. Regardless, looks like the setup works pretty good. How did you keep the plow from digging however?

The position control my Kubota L3430 kept my "plowing" depth at about 2". However, I am thinking about some sort of depth control device on the unit, such as a skid shoe.
