Had a 30" Mower deck given to me that is made for the walk behind with the long shaft. I also currently have the short shaft new style deck with the grease fitting on top and hooks up to the quick disconnect coupler with a splined tube that goes between the tractor quick disconnect coupling and mower deck. My question is this deck that I just got has the same type drive with the grease fitting but the connection to the tractor is different. It doesn't have the spline shaft like my other deck. It looks kind of like the old style connection but doesn't have exposed clutch plates. It does had the 6 slots but they aren't tapered like the old style clutch on the rotary plow. S/N is 05128218 on a sticker on the deck but I can't find anything on the net about it. I saw something in one of the manuals that showed this connection with an internal clutch built into the long shaft but the drive head on the mower was different. Oh this deck does have the angles front cover with the front roller. Any clues? I can get pictures tomorrow if it would help.

I think you have what's referred to as a "Quick Attach" deck. That's the newer style and I think they buried the clutch plates in the tractor housing rather than in the implement. My tractor has that along with a tapered "horn" that sticks out from it in order to mount my 40" "kidney shaped" mower deck.
They do make an adaptor to let you run old style implements on the new tractor. When I bought my adapter it was about $25. I think they're over $100 now, if you can find one.
I don't know if you can run a new style deck on an old style tractor.
My advice is call Richard's Gravely in West Virginia. They have everything for Gravely's - old and new. And they can probably tell you in 60 seconds what you have and what you need to do to make it work.

Not the quick disconnect . I have that for the short shaft. If you look you will see the spline shaft coupling for this. On the long shaft the PTO engages differently. Also doesn't connect direct. Tried that today. Pull PTO engagement lever but gear doesn't go out far enough to engage. Most be missing a piece or something.

Ok I think I figured it out. It is a new style deck. What I am missing is the Attachment Dog. That would go in place of the tube with splines in it. One end looks to be splined and the other end has 6 lugs that engage the six slots that are on the end of the mower main shaft you see in the bottom picture. Now to see if Richards has one or if I can find a used one.

I don't have a deck with that connection, but I do have a rotary plow with the same connection as you long-shaft mower. It uses a gear in place of the tube that you're showing in your first pic. I'm sure Richard will have one.
When you call them, ask about the adapter that will let you run old style implements on that new style hitch that you have. (I do think it's called a quick hitch - same style as mine, but you are missing the "horn" that mounts in the four holes on top.) The gear is the same as what you need, but it includes a housing.
