Oil lights are often confused as level indicators. They are not. They are pressure indicators, usually set at very low pressures such as 2-5 psi before they light. My guess is that the filter is clogged or media collapsed, or the pickup screen to the oil pump is plugged.
Running with little or now oil pressure will toast an engine. I'd look this over very carefully before trying to run it again. Did the engine run fine before it stalled? Or did it sieze?

put new filter on, light still on, engine not seized,is this screen internal?,i dont see the cup.man this sucks,ran great last week.forgot to mention a fuse is blow back near the filter in the harness for the pressure relief valve would that have a thing to do with this and yes some wire is exposed,i just don't have a fuse yet.
