Gravely 8199-KT repower

I just got a Gravely 8199 w/230 hrs on it and a blown engine. It has a Kohler 19hp Model:KT19S Spec:49147 motor on it, but the block is ruined.

I've seen some engines on SmallEngineWharehouse that can retrofit to my Gravely but the costs are close to $2000.00.

I don't know if there are kits out there to put other engines on my Gravely, however it is very appealing to bolt up a diesel and call it good..

Anyone else have a 8199 KT? Did you repower it? Or does anyone have a Kohler that they'd be willing to part with for cheap?

A local gravely dealer has an entire 8199-G tractor with under 600 hours on it for $1750, so I see the reason you're reluctant to drop the same amount on just an engine.

Took delivery of a Winsun 22hp diesel twin with 4" x 1-1/8" keyed shaft today. They have recently released this configuration and it is on Ebay. I decided to try it in my 8199KT. Will keep you up on how it goes.
