Gravely Attachment Compatibility Question

I tried digging around for an answer, but was finding more temptation from you guys showing off other toys I had not considered.

I am going to look at a Gravely 5260 this weekend, that if it is in the condition I am told over the phone, it may be hard to pass up. What I want most is to use it as a brush mower, though this one has a snow blower and 30" finish mower.

The compatibility question is if the brush hog decks my dad has with his old, burned out 7.6 Convertables will fit. Dad thinks he has heard of an adapter allowing older attachments on newer machines, but I have been having trouble locating information on it. If the older attachments are usable, life is good, since dad has 2x 30" brush decks, a 40" finish deck, tiller, and the rotary plow (not sure I have the right name for that one) that have been offered to me for the low, low price of "get 'em out of my barn".

Can anyone provide some insight, or perhaps point me to a thread I am missing that covers it?

There are many manuals at this website, perhaps the attachment adapter under accessories is what you are looking for?

The only tractors that wont allow the use of the older attachments without the "retro fit" adapter are the Pro models with the internal pto brake, older quick hitch models without the internal brake, you can just remove the qh and you have the old style 4 bolt mount. A 5260 shouldnt have the internal brake far as I know.

Thanks for the replies. Was relatively sure I would be OK and things should work. If the worst I have to do is remove the quick hitch to have the original 4 bolt, then it should not be a big deal.

Now to go do some more digging to see if Mr. Kohlbus still makes the stump grinder attachment I read about. Can't really afford it, but it is cool enough I may not be able to resist it either :laughing:
