I've got an older style Gravely Rotary plow, the kind that hold 140w oil.
It was bone dry of oil when I got it. I took off the top & bottom bearing caps, which have oil seals pressed into them.
I bought new oil seals (2" diameter). When knocked out the old seals, I noticed that they were designed differently from the replacement seals. The older ones were essentially as thick as two new ones sitting on top of one another.
Has anyone changed the seals before?
Thanks for any help or insights.
