Gravely ZTR Electric Clutch Removal

Any One with experience removing an replacing electric clutch on The ZTR's
Model 996024 144Z Series
I need to replace engine bottom seal an can't figure out how to pull the upper half of clutch off shaft.

Horrible Freight has a hydraulic gear puller if you have the room for one. Used one on a 20hp horizontal shaft onan.

I'll give a look an see if it will fit .
There is just the cast aluminum clutch housing and don't think that could withstand the pull. Other than that. Hopefully someone might know if there is a specialized puller. Local Dealer ship $65 hour. I could probably afford the tool more than their labor bill.

Worked st a Gravely dealer, we just used an air hammer to remove them. Spray crank shaft and work if off. Keep rotating it as you hammer it. Puller won't work since clutch has a rounded edge and puller slides right off!

I've got it up on jack stands I'll give it a try
I did see on YouTube were 1 man fabricated a heavy duty cusrom "C" Shaped puller. If all else fails I may seek that avenue with a cousin who fabs.

Unfortunately many times the clutch isn't a good candidate to use a puller on and they come off in pieces. MTD had an interesting approach which was to start the engine with a loosened retaining bolt. I've got a homemade c puller made out of plate that I destroyed earlier this summer.

Mower 16yrs old no way that clutch is coming except in pieces. Getting back on that project today.

Spray penetrating oil on it 3, 4 times a day for a week. Tap the crank shaft and clutch from time to time. It will come off.

AND when putting it back on, use lots of anti-seize on it.
