Gray market tractors in SC

I've found a few ads for an outfit in SC selling gray market (Yanmar) tractors with FEL, tandem trailers, etc. They are claiming they are "reconditioned" which concerrns me some (listed location is Charleston, SC). Anyone have any experience with these folks?

Don't know them.
General advice...buy the dealer/seller first, then the tractor. Much greater chance of good quality equipment from a dealer/seller of good repute and long standing in the market.

On several of the old threads, dealers advised people to ask for references from the dealer you are thinking of doing business with. See if you can get some more than a year old rather than all recent ones. If the people you talk to are happy with their tractors and have gotten good dealer support, then this would probably be a good outfit to work with. Otherwise there are a few Yanmar dealers on here that are very reputable, and you might want to pay for shipping to ensure you get a quality tractor.

A word to the wise stay away from Rienhart! I didn't and tractor YM1700 was repainted piece of junk!

My brother-in-law came all the way from Virginia to buy a Yanmar rice-paddie tractor from that guy in Salley, SC. This spring that will be two years ago. The tractor has run flawlessly.

Personally, I would not have done what my BiL did, but it seems to have worked for him.
