Grease on Mower Deck

Hey everybody, I have a 54in fine cut deck on my BX2350, every time I grease, which is about every 10 hours or so grease gets thrown all over the deck by the grease squeezing out between the spindle and the pulleys, getting on the pulleys and flinging it on the deck. Is this a normal occurrence or a blown seal? It痴 not a huge deal but it does make a mess.

Are you using high speed grease? Discount store $0.89/tube grease doesn't really cut it for mowers. Other than that I assume you know that once you see the grease coming out somewhere it is useless to keep pumping more in.

How much grease are you putting in every ten hours? I use two strikes every 6 hours and will have just a faint grease streak at the end of the season.

Im using New Holland Ambra grease. I usually just put in a couple pumps every 10 hours or so.

I'm using the same grease on my 54" regular cut and I do see some grease streaks around the pulleys. As far as I know, it's normal but if you have a lot of build up, you're likely over greasing. Don't know if the Ambra is high speed grease (I used the last tube), so maybe that's part of it, but I've never seen a mower deck that doesn't squirt some grease. Better to have a little too much in there than not enough.
