Hello all . I mostly lurk on this board and enjoy those who post. I have a 2006 jm284le type tractor with 45 hrs. and it was a crate. The zerks (grease gun fittings) on a few parts were broken by rough shipment. I just swapped out the good to use and left the bad on 3pth etc. Well today I replaced them and they were metric , 10-1 ! I have seen other postings saying they were sae or something and in my case that is not true.I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Now if I could figure out the oil filter thing ? joe

Yep, they're metric alright. My local ACE hardware had replacements. I read in an earlier post that a NAPA 1626 or a WIX 51381 oil filter is supposed to fit. They do on my 20 hp.

Harbor Freight sell two different sets of metric grease fittings. Each set is only $4.99. Part numbers are 93906 and 45732. Probably worth keeping a set around just in case.

You might have to unscrew the threaded tube in the filter holder a little(and reposition the locking nut a little higher up on the threads) to insure full thread engagement in the concave top of a domestic filter. For that matter, you could unscrew the threaded pipe from the filter holder and take it with you to the autoparts store to make sure it screws into the filter OK before you even buy it. The only thing holding it in place on the holder is it's lock nut.
