Hope the weather improves so you can get even more seat time on your JD4400.

Welcome to TBN /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. That 4400 is a nice machine. It's the one that really got me interested in finding a compact.

Keep the pictures coming of your various projects. It's great to see the tractors doing what thye were intended to do!

HEY! I thought I was the only reactionary that shunned HST. 2500 hours on my 750, and still loving it.

That 67 FEL does get a little tiresome without PS, particularly with the MFWD, but it's paid for...

Paul,
I have a "makeout knob" on my steering wheel and always steer it one handed. The only problem I have is when I first get off it, I walk in circles for a while cause my left leg is so pumped up from clutchin. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Wouldn't have it any other way!

"Necker Knob"....Oh, man, it hurts just thinking about those things.

When I was a kid (in the late 50's and 60's) neighbor had a '52 John Deere A narrow front with one of them things on the wheel. I was hauling a disk harrow over fresh plowing, and dropped the front end into a back furrow.

I think you know what happened next. Drove with one hand for the next few days, AFTER taking a screwdriver to the knob.

The clutch on the 750 is nothing. But then, I grew up clutching Dad's McCormick Super W6, and have walked with a slight list to starboard ever since /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

My problem is the lack of seat suspension. Of course, wedging my 225 pound carcass into that seat isn't helping matters /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

I always heard 'em called suicide knobs.
Reading Pfoxy's post, I guess I know why!

These things predate me...only saw 'em in some old cars when I was a kid.
