Hello everyone! Soon after becoming interested in a small TLB, about 6 months ago I discovered TBN. I can't begin to thank you all for the wealth of info I have been exposed to here on TBN. My dad always had JD's so that's what I grew up on. But it was the Kubota BX23 that first caught my eye. As the winter months rolled along and I kept devouring the TBN info I was pretty sure the Kubota was going to be the one. Every time my mind swayed toward the green, I would think, to much green for the green. Then I began reading the post's about the Woods BH. As I'm keeping the JD 325 for the mowing duties, I really was just looking for A TLB to clear the snow and play/work around on the 2 acres. While pricing the Deere's on the web site I always had to start with the 4110, (I thought), to be able to accept the 46 hoe. Always too much $. I had originally thought the 4010, but I've since been told by the woods folks that they have no plans to tool up the BH6000 kit for that tractor because the demand is so low. Enter the 2210. The midnite hour is fast approaching, I drive the BX23 one more time, I've been to 2 dealers, BX23, front blade, ballast box, block heater installed, rubber squeegee edge for front blade, one lifting hook center top of the FEL bucket, and 50 hour service package, delivered to the door, dealer #1-17,800+tax, dealer #2- 18,200+ tax. Dealer 2 was my orange choice, probably could have got to 18. Now to the green dealer. First JD guy had the 2210, FEL, ballast box, and front blade, 13,600, he was not a Woods dealer. 2ND JD guy was a Woods dealer, after a while he realized I was there that day to buy a tractor, and about 3 hours later this is where we ended up, 2210, r4 tires, 210 FEL with 53" bucket, 54" front blade, Woods BH6000 backhoe installed, ballast box, block heater installed, rubber squeegee edge kit, one lifting hook welded top center of the FEL bucket, and the 50 hour service kit, delivered to my door, (58 miles), for 18,300 +tax. At that point it appeared to me my long tractor quest was at an end. Although the Kubota threadle pedal and joystick location/operation were never a showstopper for me, as soon as I threw a leg over the JD, I knew I was home. It just plain felt and fit better, at least for me anyway. I had heard from other that this dealer was topnotch, and after my expierence with them, I have to agree. I found them knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly willing to work with me, and made me feel like they wanted to sell me a piece of equipment. As far as the warranty concerns go, the marrige of the 2210 /Woods BH has the Blessing of JD, the tractor warraty is NOT voided, just the usual fine print disclaimers that the lawyers put in all warranty papers. I have a co-worker who bought from this same dealer a couple years ago, and he's still smiling. If he needs parts, a phone call, and it's Fedexed as soon as possible, no shipping charges. (none that show anyway!) I have a dealer only 10 miles away, deals list prices, and although I'd hesitate to call them arogant, they didn't seem to friendly either. How they stay in bussiness is a mystery to me as well as others. As an example, they wanted 2,000 more for just the Woods backhoe, plus they had the balloons to want 500 for installation, so, indeed shopping around is a must. They must have a contract to supply equipment to the state! Anyway, sorry to ramble on with such a long post. All the great folks on TBN have been such a wonderful resource, I just wanted to share my tractor trip. Expect delivery the last week of April. Just waiting for Woods! Happy spring everyone!
