I have been seeing a ton of Yellow New Hollands on the road sides lately. (road maint) Has New Holland gone School Bus Yellow on us, or is the State possibly special ordering them that way. ...I guess it would make it tougher to steal one.
Probably the state got them specially painted. JD does that. I don't know how they look in school bus yellow, but thought they looked great in bright lemon yellow in the JD brochure for the older 855 / 955 ... series.
It seems to me, that sometime back someone else mentioned seeing yellow NH tractors, in California I think. I'm pretty sure they were state tractors. Can't remember the thread.
Some states order them specially painted for increased visibility in low light situations. Some colors like blue and red are very hard to see in low light. For years John Deere made yellow tractors for the construction trade and for highway departments.

In California the highway dept. (CalTrans) uses orange as their "color". So, at first it was a surprise to see orange JD's doing mowing on the median....
...but then I knew. JD is actually a subsidiary of Kubota. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
