Okay I have greenbeans coming up all over the place. Some have small holes in the leaves that I'm thinking are being caused by bugs. Most plants are 3-4" tall when should I dust for bugs?
Unless they're devastating the plants, I'd leave em be for now. Watch and identify the critter so you know what your dealing with. Then take appropriate measures. Anything you apply to the plants you'll be ingesting down the road.
I picked my green beans today for the second time and they're looking great right now. A neighbor tells me he has already sprayed for grasshoppers twice, but I haven't seen any yet. However, something is eating holes in my cabbage and I don't know what's doing it since I have found any bugs on them.
Up here in the Frozen North we are told to expect frost tonight with temps in the 25 to 30 degree range.
Also a possibility of snow flurries in the AM.
Now you can see why our seasons are called winter and two months of bad sledding.
