Hi, New here and from Michigan, U.S.A. 23 acre farm, 100% off grid for 37 years 11 miles from Flint, Michigan. Farm is entirely owner self built. Kubota B-7500 with bucket. Woods tiller, King Kutter brush hog, several other implements. Reason for joining was looking for help with removing stump jumper and figured out a bit easier way to save others time and frustration. Will post that later to help.
Tractor has been important for developing farm, as with most of you. Forum for DYI and advice is a nice asset to have. Working to convert to all electric solar/wind charged tools and hope to have electric based tractor in the future as technology improves for batteries.
We host tours on the farm for anyone interested. Michigan State University uses our farm for teaching related to off grid aspects of this trade and for youngsters in the 4-H program to tour annually.
If any interest, there is a public available webinar from May 31, 2019, showcasing our farm and the off grid lifestyle. Part of the Powering Michigan Agriculture series. Will send the link when allowed after time.
Working to place farm on a conservation easement with MDARD to keep it as is, for future generations to enjoy.
Hope to learn from all of you. Don
