Okay, I guess it's time to come out of lurking.
I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Joe, I live in extreme Northern Minnesota, (Warroad, to be exact) am in my mid 40s, and have recently inherited my Mother-in-Law's farm just 35 miles away. My wife grew up on the farm and we can't stand to see it empty, so we're doing the two-property commute, as we also love our town house on the Warroad river.
To help in my efforts to keep the old homestead looking good, I've recently purchased a 1985 Ford 1510 with a DuAl 105 loader and a Bush Hog 60" rear blade. I have also ordered a Woods HC54 rotary mower to knock down all the brush and saplings that have been encroaching on the hay fields over the last few years.
As far as my operating experience goes, I have worked a a forklift operator in the warehouse at the local factory, and have had some limited experience working on a dairy farm in my youth. At least I have an idea how to make things move and how to operate a control valve or two.
I look forward to learning much more from the vast resources on this fine board, and will be posting some pics of the little rig when I get a chance.
Cheers!
Joe
