I've been using a MacKissic TPH-123 (think that's the right #) since 2004 on a 4010 (like a 2019E if made today), 1025R and now the 2025R. It's great. Have gone through numerous
chipper blade sharpenings and finally had to replace the blade this year (had 2 blades). Went through the 3 rotations of the hammers and replaced all the hammers and spacers last year. The one (among 4) bearings that is not zerk greased went out about 5 years ago. Replaced it.
Nice thing about the Mac is that is so easy to work on. Before it, I had an engine driven Troy Bilt. It was a beast to work on. Same design and all, but the spacers between the hammers on it are bad metallurgy such that they bend and stick themselves to the shaft. Then one has to spend hours hammering the shaft out through the bent spacers. Whereas, this job on the Mac is about 15-30 minutes, and the spacers do not require replacement every time like on the Troy Bilt.
I use mine to grind up 100 bags or so of leaves I collect every year. If you only do chipping, you won't need the hammered mill so much. One of the
chipper-only ones might be better. I have YET to here from ANYONE about how easy or hard it is to maintain those other kinds.
Oh, I got mine from the JD dealer, New Virginia Tractor, in Charlottesville.
