I have several Gresen 2 spool monoblock Hydraulic controls used for loaders. One is stamped with a C2 (this is the valve I used) and the other is stamped D4, otherwise identical. I had a 772a Ford loader that needed a control valve (on a Ford 6600). I installed one Gresen control (marked C2) onto the machine but the #1 spool (left- should be lift) only goes up about a foot and sounds like its cylinders are topped out. Spool #2 (right- should be bucket) works fine. Could this control have a different spool on 1 side for lift only? The ports had iron plugs in them (I figured they were to keep dirt out since this was removed from something previously, but the far port on #1 was in very tight. I found a PDF file on the Gresen controls. And I believe that you cannot buy just spools for these controls.but they have rebuild kits available. Can a person change the output on one end, say by installing a "spring extended A spool positioner kit K2018. I am still "hydraulic illiterate" but it does appear that these units have parts available. I am not to learned on hydraulic valves. This is my first education in this field. Any thought or reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Valve PDF: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...pojUAQ&usg=AFQjCNFBSGp45-ijEIHs9vuGAeUW7R270w
