Grill for 61 MF

My father in-law has a 1961 mf that needs a grill. 25 years ago when my wife was a teenager, she ran the thing into a tree and broke out the grill.

She would like to get him a new grill for this Xmas. Naturally I don't know the model number, but would probably recognize it if I saw it.

Can you buy replacement grills for these old tractors?

I've seen on a bunch on ebay for older Massey Ferguson tractors but regardless of where you get it you will need to know the model. As an example the MF 65 and the MF 35 look the same but different size, same as with the 135, 165, 175, 185, etc.

Ok, I believe we got the model number. They call it an I30, probably refers to an Industrial 30? Like the MF 165 grill assy on this page?

Then I see this "aftermarket" grill on ebay. Do you think this will fit?

Does the original grill have the chrome/silver color on it like this aftermarket one does?

wayne, they are probably both after market grilles, you should e-mail both sellers to see just what thay say...as to the actual dimension's of the grille ,so there is no apprehension as whether it will fit or not /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I beleive that the e-bay deal is the way I'd go ,but the grille is black and silver painted (no chrome).

BTW have you seen the chrome cross bar w/emblem for the Massey's (tractor supply is the vendor I think?)

I been looking at e-bay a lot lately and the Massey ferguson stuff, (although mostly repro) More parts are becoming available than I've seen in the past. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've not seen the emblem yet. Is the stock original grill for these things black and silver as well? If so, I'll just go for the ebay one I think.

Wayne, Yes, the stock grill should be black and silver, but the most important part is the fit /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Happy bidding /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Edit: for an I30 not sure about grill color on yellow tractor?
