These questions deal with the factory fold-down grill guard for class lll boomers... I assume that the grill guard cannot be folded down with the 16LA loader attached(in the lowered position). Is this correct? Can the hood be opened without folding down the grill guard or would it hit the guard? I would hate to have to start the tractor, lift the loader (impossible in the garage), & fold down guard just to get the hood open! I don't know...maybe I'm over-reacting........

I have the factory grill guard and the 16LA on my TC40. Yes you have to raise the bucket to lower the grill guard. Yes you have to lower the grill guard to raise the hood. So far it has not been an issue. I have done it a few times in the garage, but am usually outside. Without the grill guard you can raise the hood without raising the bucket, but I would not due without my grill guard.

Max, let me clarify what WoodDawg said in his reply. You cannot lower the grill guard all the way without raising the loader arms enough for the guard to clear the crossmember between the loader arms, B-U-T you can open the hood without raising the arms. With the arms all the way down (and at most other locations) when you release the grill guard, it moves forward a few inches and lays against the crossmember. In this position, it allows just enough room for the hood to open. This is very easy to do and I do it all the time. There is absolutely no need to raise the loader to open the hood. If your tractor is in your garage, you will be able to open the hood without starting the tractor. It's a good question, but you have nothing to worry about.
