One of the antiques uses a 6-volt group 17 HF battery.
The last one I bought 10 years ago cost $41 I bought at Interstate and could get them at Kragen and other battery dealers.
Needed to replace it and called around and the best price I could get local was $135
Over 300% increase in 10 years makes one wonder how high will prices get?
The most recent application for group 17 batteries is MGB sports cars... It was the standard for British made and some American made equipment going back to the 1920's.
The dimensions are small and cannot go bigger without relocating the battery to another location.
