It’s not often I have everything in the same spot for a picture so I took one. This is the set of equipment that I use when doing underground work with minimum depth of 24”. I bring out the 6 ton excavator and 5 ton plow when 36” is the minimum ground cover. Second picture is a driveway and yard I just plowed through

Thanks for looking.

TB216 with 4”, 12” toothy, 24” and 36” digging buckets. Also the blade bucket that I can carry the buckets around with or fill up with rocks that magically pop out of the ground.

PTX 44 quad track plow/trencher combo. Only the plow gets used.

JT1720 drill with Vermeer 300gallon tank and mud mixer.

Also two dudes with shovels, picks, rakes, tampers etc.

PJ 20ft trailer with nice ramps

Bigfoot 20ft trailer with crappy bent ramps.

The second picture you see the reel trailer with a 6kft reel of 1.5” conduit.

I wish I would have known about this before doing homeowner work but it’s always nice to have something to fall back on.

Are you required to call 811 or your equivalent Dig Flagging service, or is that done for you on commercial jobs?

I imagine your insurance coverage must be $$$$.

Is the PTX the machine with the weird looking wheels and ripper? I have never seen a machine like that. Is the ripper used like a mole plow to lay in cable and pipe?

Insurance is not too bad really. Payroll is my #1 expense. Yeah 811 on everything.

Yeah it has a hydraulic shaker box that vibrates and pulls a 5” floating bullet which opens a tube underground while only cutting a small slit on the surface. It pretty cool pulling 1500ft off a reel underground. Friction and pipe weight really add up. Pulling 100ft by hand off the reel will wear you out.
