Hi, my name is Tom. I joined this site to help find implements to make my small farm work smarter. Last fall, I purchased a 1953 farmall cub (no implements) from the original owner who had kept the cub very well maintained. Then I got several implements in the next few months to aid with my vegetable farm. I modified the cultivators with new 16 inch disc's to create a potato hiller. That made a quarter mile of hilling a breeze and only took 15 minutes to hill. I restored a 172 planter/runner to plant my corn (nine rows in 5 minutes!) which grew great, despite the pesky crows. I also combined the fertilizer unit with the cultivators to side dress the corn once it was up. I have now finished digging potatoes by hand and need to find a mechanical way to do that next year. It was not hard work as much as it took too much time. If anyone knows of a single row potato digger in working or restoreable condition as well as a way to get it to Exeter Maine, please contact me. Thanks. I think I may be looking for a 1 row potato planter next year. I am always keeping my eye out for other cub implements as well (I have a 189 two way plow and a 54 grader/plow already).
