GT 2050 Right Cub to get?

I have a 2004 3235 with 54 inch deck and triple bagger. It has the bar across the output chute. My 1 acre yard is very wet much of the time and if the grass is wet and long I do have trouble with the deck clogging while bagging the grass. I just remove the bagger chute when that happens and have no problem discharging grass even while mowing through standing water. My old 1450 with a 44A deck had a frequent grass buildup underneath and I removed the deck several times a season and scraped it with a putty knife. I removed the 54 inch deck once since purchasing it July 2004 and that was to disable the reverse mow switch. It weighs 280 lbs and was a bear to remove/install so I'm happy that it doesn't get a grass buildup. I hosed it off underneath, while laying on the ground, once or twice since purchase.

2500 GT series is suppose to work with a tiller, hydraulics work off of the engine somehow and not a direct-drive shaft like the 3000 series has... )</font>

Yep, there is a gent on here (ToddZ if I remember correctly?) that has the tiller with his 2544. You remove the deck & the hydraulic pump for the tiller mounts under the tractor & runs off the deck drive belt. An expensive setup, but the tillers are $$$$ for any GT.

The tiller attachment for the 2544 works great. After you get familiar with operation its plows through the ground like a breeze. It attaches to the sleeve hitch (included with tiller) and uses a belly mounted pump to drive the tiller with hydraulic drive on the tiller. With the electric hitch attachment and a box-blade 40" with rippers, I perform weeding. It's not heavy enough to rip 4 foot tall weeds out but it works great for finish work and light weed removal. Limitation seems to be the tractors not powerful enough to rip soil more than an inch or so deep with the blade. I'd recommend the GT2544 as best value for a new Garden Tractor over any brand. I did alot of research to find a Garden Tractor that could use attachments, and I don't mean light or pull behind implements. (example is Sears tow behind tiller, it's self powered and isn't half as powerful or as maneuverable as the CC Tiller). The GT2544 is the best value for any tractor in the line-up.

Bob B., thanks for the heads up on the 3200 with 54" deck. That thing is more than twice my weight so I'm glad I never seriously consisdered it. They don't list the weights on the 2000 series decks so even they may be out of my range, but I planned on parking it on a board and using washer/dryer rails on rollers to hopefully to glide it out with. Anyone know if this might be possible?

JTKub, thanks for letting me know an expensive tiller might work okay off of this series.

Site lists that a 42" Front Blade will work on a 2050. Anyone know if this is the same as a dozer blade and if it will work on smoothing out a sandy driveway? How do the dozer blades work anyway, do they raise & lower any via the height of the deck being raised/lowered?
