Gt 2186 puking oil

my Gt 2186 with kohler command 20 started puking oil out the valve cover first. I put a new valve cover gasket on it, and it stopped leaking there, but immediately started leaking lower on the motor, possibly around the head gasket. I'm talking major leak. Like
about 1 quart in about 15 seconds of engine running. any ideas would greatly be appreciated

suspect blown head gasket - blowby pressurizing crankcase...?

I'm afraid it is the head gasket. I don't think they have a pcv valve. Thanks for the help rcbe

yeah, as my dim memory serves, Commands back a few yrs ago were having some probs with head gaskets - you might do some searching for details.

Yes, my 2004 Command 25 blew a head gasket. The head bolts appeared to not be torqued down very well. The new kit included new bolts. I assembled the engine minus the shrouds and ran it till hot. I then torqued the bolts a final time and have had no problem the last several years.

The Kohler Command 20 has a crankcase breather mounted on the crankcase just in front of the carburetor with a rubber hose that attached that vents back into the carb. Check the air filter area is their oil?
