GT needed, like new but what about used?

Looking to buy a GT for mostly mowing (.5 to .7 acre) and tilling etc. the garden (approx. 40 X 100), and basic yard shores on our 1.25 acres. I like, after dealer thoughts added the CC 2523 and the JD GX345 but wondered if there was anything else that falls in the used category I should consider. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

My price point doesn't allow for the Steiner or Ventrac's but they are nice looking and have lots of features. Too bad they show no dealers in our area. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'd take a look at used Cub 2500 and 3000 series machines, Deere GTs, Simplicitys, Wheelhorse Classic 300 series, With a budget that will afford a new Deere GX 345, you might find a package deal on a used machine with several attachments for the same or less money. I personally like Kohler motors because I've had great luck with them, but the others are good too, except Kawasaki twin cylinder motors from the early to late 1990's with the plastic timing gears. They are VERY expensive to fix.

While I like the Deere GX series they are out of my price range.
