Looks like it's about time to replace/rebuilt the spindles on my GT1554, about right at 250 hours and the amount of abuse it has taken the last three years, one of the deck blades just can free spin, can not torque down enough and locks it when an extra space is added.

I'm going for complete replacement on them. Does Cub/MTD sell the spindles as an assy (ie, loaded bearings, etc), or do I need to buy the spindle AND bearings, spacers, and seals?

Looks like a complete replacement of each spindle, minus the pulley, is about $625 when parts ordering direct from Cub. Anyone know of any cheaper parts places?

Oh, once other questions about the spindles. How are they held to the deck? Four self tapping bolts from the bottom?

That seems AWFUL high for spindles (you're talking parts cost only or installed cost?). I rebuilt a 44R deck on my old 1450 and the spindles were around $70 each. For $400 I got the complete deck shell.
