Hurray I got my riding mower today and it works fantastic. Took a while to get use to driving being made so much easier though. Besides getting really dirty and dodging as many little cactus plants as I could see, it took on the weeds really good. Hopefully the blades are holding up good. Today after I change my car tire (sidewall sprung a big leak) I’m going to go in and buy an air compressor to blow off the top of the deck since that will make getting the sand and junk off of it a lot easier than washing it off all the time.

Anyway the light cable had already gotten melted just from them loading it up from one store bringing it here. We got it tied back. I also noticed on the outside the right side of the lens cover was flush with the body, but the left side isn’t. He popped it back in, but it still looks off to me. Is this the norm or is it something I should make them fix? Sand has already gotten into the center, but I don’t know if it was from this or not. I’m going to try to upload the picture of the light lens problem & weeds it’s been cutting, but the last time I was at the site a gremlin blacked out my screen and ate some files on my OS partition turning the power off to be safe. I patched the files for now, but a couple of my programs where hit so if I have any more problems I’ll have to not upload it and not allow scripts, etc. New mower and old OS J.

You're on the right track by getting an air compressor to blow off the deck. Your bearings will last much longer without water in them.

On your headlights, I think you can loosen the mounting screws and tweak it in better. On mine, the hood didn't match up well with the instrument cowl. Apparently they don't spend much time making it look right. Slap it together, ship it out the door - most customers won't notice... I wish they had more pride in their work at the factory.

Thanks for the feedback Rhoderman. During the first service I'll check this out since dirt definately is getting into it or call the dealer who said he could have it replaced since it was a problem before I got it.
I've worked in manufacturing and took pride in my work. But it's the bosses and quota's that caused things to get pushed out the door that shouldn't. Also got different story's of what was acceptable and what wasn't. That along with other things is why I quit that job. As to younger generation workers it wasn't trying to teach to have any pride, just quota's.
Hope you can help with my next thread.
