GT275 blowing starter relays

I have had this mower for about 4 years, and simply love it. Except for one recurring problem: It has blown one starter relay already. It took Kawasaki a month of Sundays to ship the part to the shop, and it was not cheap. That lasted about two seasons of mowing about 2/3 acre, once a week, which is pretty light use IMO. Now, it appears that it is developing the same problem again. Is there some repairable common problem with this model that can cause starter relays to repeatedly malfunction, or should I find a new home for it?

Do you clean the machine with a power washer? That's what took out the last two starter relays on mine.

No, I have never power washed it, or even hosed it down.

Hopefully someone is still watching this..I have a GT275 and it won't start. Key turn and nothing except dash light.

Bypass the solenoid and it turns over nicely. Not the ignition switch (bought one) or starter itself. Bypassed the seat safety switch, no change.
Small purple wire to the solenoid is good, and it passes 4 volts when the key is in the start position.

I can't afford to buy many more parts, so I need to fix it; Thought it was solenoid fur sure until someone mentioned starter relay in this thread, and I haven't a clue where it is and how to test.

How do I know what needs replacing at this point? I think it is the solenoid, but can't afford another $100 mistake. Thanks for help!
