GT275 Mower Deck

I have a 48 inch "mulcher compatable" mower deck on my GT275. There is a tag on it that says "serial number" with a long bar code and also has "M0048DF102360" on it.
Is the M number the model number?

I am looking at a LX188 for parts and was wondering if the decks are interchangeable.

How can I tell if the deck on that LX188 will fit my GT275?

I own a LX188 with the 48C deck. The tractor is for sale, but definately not for parts. I will, however check the serial #'s, and model # tomorrow and will report back with the information.

It turns out that I may not be as helpful as I hoped. My LX188 48" deck has no part, or serial numbers on it. It does have the "mulch compatable" decal, the height adjustment decal, and the usual warning stickers.

If you are unable to find out through JD, or any other source. I could always photograph the deck, and take some measurements of the mountings.

I might just take my deck off, put it on the trailer and go look at the LX188. That or take my belt guards off and see it they match up with the 188.

That should work. It seems logical that they would be the same. I do know that the 48" deck on my LX is a very good deck. It is definately a much better constructed piece than the deck on my new X540.

The deck I am looking at is: M0048DD110755 on an LX188

My damaged deck from GT275 is: M0048DF102360

I do not know how much serial #'s will help. With the prefix being so similar, they just might interchange. I would measure the attachment points, and other critical points, for a comparison.

Do you have an i-phone, with the bar code reading app? That might help.

Bought the LX188 for 40 dollars. A lot of parts on it I can sell. No hood though!

I detached the deck and it looks identical to mine. Other than changing blades and greasing the pullys/bearings, is there anything else I should do before putting the deck on?

I suggest: Complete disassembly of the deck. Clean the underside to the bare metal, and use rust converter to treat the rusted metal. (Follow the instructions for the rust treatment.) Paint the underside.
Service all the bearing assemblies, check the idler pulleys and belt. Put it all back together. Mount it and set the cutting height.
