Symptoms are PTO not engaging or engaging and then disengaging at random times.

I have followed the WSM to check the PTO switch and the current draw coming out of the harness side. The switch matches battery voltage, the current draw is 2.2 amps which is a tad below the range specified.

I believe I have a bad "blue: wire; moving it by hand with the PTO switch ON results in the clutch engaging. I'm not too sure/confident about how to run a new wire//bypass the existing one, looking for input. I did price out an entire wiring harness for the tractor which is pricey.

Thank you.

Your choices here are pretty much 1) weak battery 2) intermittent switch 3) harness issue 4) worn clutch. You can run an Ohm test on the clutch itself, I'd have to dig on spec. Is the outside ring on the clutch adjustable? Too much of a gap can be an issue. If it was, it would have 3 nuts.

I would have thought if wiggling a wire caused it to engage with the PTO switch checking out OK it would be in the wire.
